Description
For sample adults and sample children who had an asthma episode/attack in the past 12 months (ASTHATAKYR), ASTHOSPYR identifies those who had to stay overnight in the hospital because of asthma in the past 12 months.
In 1999 only, those responding affirmatively to ASTHOSPYR were asked a follow-up question about how many times they stayed overnight in the hospital because of asthma (ASTHOSPYRNO).
In 2003 onlyand 2008, those responding affirmatively to ASTHOSPYR were asked a follow-up question about whether a health professional talked to them about long-term management of their asthma, after leaving the hospital (ASTHMANAGE).
