Description

For sample adults age 18+ in 2002 who had seen a practitioner for chelation in the past 12 months (CHEYR) and had used chelation to treat a specific health problem or condition (CHETREAT), CHETGLAUC indicates whether the person had used chelation to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma was one of 72 possible specific conditions that sample adults (but not sample children) could report treating with chelation.

Comparability

This variable is only available for 2002. Treatment of many other specific conditions by chelation was covered in the 2007 Alternative Health Supplement, but glaucoma were not identified as a specific condition for treatment by alternative medicine in that year.
