For sample adults in 2002 who have seen a practitioner for chiropractic care during the past 12 months (COMYR), COMINSURE indicates whether any of the costs of using chiropractic care were covered by insurance.
The 2002 and 2007 NHIS included supplements covering a range of alternative health practices (see ACUYR). Although information about insurance coverage of chiropractic care is only available for 2002, data about the average out-of-pocket cost (in dollars) per visit to a practitioner for chiropractic or osteopathic manipulation is available for 2007 (COMPAID).
