Get treatment of counseling at other place, past 6 months
Description

For sample children age 4 to 17 who had at least minor difficulties with emotions, concentration, behavior or being able to get along in the past 6 months (EMODIFFYN, EMODIFF), DIFTOTH indicates whether, in the past 6 months, the child received treatment or counseling for these difficulties at "any other place."
The meaning of "other place" must be interpreted as somewhere other than the specific treatment locales asked about in earlier questions.
These other locations included:
- school program (DIFTSCHPROG)
- daycare, child care, or play group(DIFTDC)
- office, clinic or center in community (DIFTOF)
- home (DIFTHOM)
- hospital ER, crisis center, or shelter (DIFTER)
- hospital or community day treatment program (DIFTHOS)
For each of these locations, interviewers asked who provided the treatment or counseling.
For children with an affirmative response in DIFTOTH, interviewers asked, "Who provided the treatment or counseling?"
Possible responses were:
- school counselor, school nurse, or school social worker (DIFTOTHCOUN)
- speech, occupational, or physical therapist (DIFTOTHTHER)
- psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, psychiatric nurse (DIFTOTHMHPROF)
- pediatrician or family doctor (DIFTOTHFAMD)
- acupuncturist, massage therapist, chiropractor (DIFTOTHCAM)
- religious or spiritual counselor (DIFTOTHRELIG)
- probation or juvenile corrections officer or court counselor (DIFTOTHCOURT)
- other (DIFTOTHOTHER)
Universe
- 2010: Sample children age 4 to 17 who had at least minor difficulties with emotions, behavior, concentration, or getting along with others during the past 6 months.
