Description
For sample adults who had participated in cross-country skiing in the past 2 weeks (EXCCSKI), EXCCSKINO reports the number of times the respondent had participated in cross-country skiing over those 2 weeks.
After the interviewer determined that a respondent participated in cross-country skiing, respondents were asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you go cross-country skiing?"
Related Variables
Respondents were also asked how many minutes on average they had spent cross-country skiing each time during the past 2 weeks (EXCCSKIMIN) and how much their heart rate or breathing had increased while cross-country skiing (EXCCSKIBR).
EXCCSKINO is used as one of the input variables in the IHIS-created variable EXSUM1, which is a summary variable that reports whether a respondent would have met the exercise recommendations set forth in the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

- 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who skied cross-country in the past 2 weeks.
- 1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) who skied cross-country in the past 2 weeks.
- 1998: Sample adults age 18+ who skied cross-country in the past 2 weeks.
