EXOTHER1NO
Number of times did other physical activity no. 1, past 2 weeks

Description

For sample adults who had participated in another physical activity (activity number 1) in the past 2 weeks (EXOTHER1), EXOTHER1NO reports the number of times the respondent had participated in another physical activity (activity number 1) over those 2 weeks.

After the interviewer determined that a respondent participated in another physical activity (activity number 1), respondents were asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you participate in another physical activity (activity number 1)?"

Related Variables

Respondents were also asked how many minutes on average they had spent participating in another physical activity (activity number 1) each time during the past 2 weeks (EXOTHER1MIN) and how much their heart rate or breathing had increased while participating in another physical activity (activity number 1) (EXOTHER1BR).

EXOTHER1NO is used as one of the input variables in the IHIS-created variable EXSUM1, which is a summary variable that reports whether a respondent would have met the exercise recommendations set forth in the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
