Description
For sample adults who had participated in tennis in the past 2 weeks (EXTENNIS), EXTENNISNO reports the number of times the respondent had participated in tennis over those 2 weeks.
After the interviewer determined that a respondent participated in tennis, respondents were asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you do play tennis?"
Related Variables
Respondents were also asked how many minutes on average they had spent doing playing tennis each time during the past 2 weeks (EXTENNISMIN) and how much their heart rate or breathing had increased while playing tennis(EXTENNISBR).
EXTENNISNO is used as one of the input variables in the IHIS-created variable EXSUM1, which is a summary variable that reports whether a respondent would have met the exercise recommendations set forth in the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

- 1985; 1990: Sample persons age 18+ who played tennis in the past 2 weeks.
- 1991; 1998: Sample persons age 18+ who played tennis in the past 2 weeks.
- 1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) who played tennis in the past 2 weeks.
