Description
For sample adults who had participated in walking in the past 2 weeks (EXWALK), EXWALKNO reports the number of times the respondent had participated in walking over those 2 weeks.
After the interviewer determined that a respondent participated in walking, respondents were asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you go walking?"
Related Variables
Respondents were also asked how many minutes on average they had spent walking each time during the past 2 weeks (EXWALKMIN) and how much their heart rate or breathing had increased while walking(EXWALKBR).
EXWALKNO is used as one of the input variables in the IHIS-created variable EXSUM1, which is a summary variable that reports whether a respondent would have met the exercise recommendations set forth in the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
