Description
KIDNEYWKYR identifies sample adults whom a doctor or other health professional had diagnosed as having weak or failing kidneys during the past 12 months. Respondents were instructed to exclude "kidney stones, bladder infections, or incontinence."
In 1999, a separate question identified sample adults whom a doctor or other health professional had diagnosed as having kidney stones in the past 12 months (KIDNYSTONYR). In 2002 and 2007, sample adults who had ever been told by a doctor or other health professional that they had urinary problems (such as incontinence, frequent or slow urination, or infections) were identified (URINPROBEV). Those identified as ever having such urinary problems were asked whether they had such problems during the past 12 months (URINPROBYR).
