Description
STROKEYR identifies sample adults who had a stroke during the past 12 months. Only sample adults who were ever told by a doctor or other health professional that they had a stroke (STROKEV) were asked the follow-up question about strokes within the past year.
The Field Representative's Manuals for 2002 and 2007 defined stroke as "a cerebral hemorrhage or embolism of the cerebral blood vessels." This definition was not routinely shared with respondents.
