Description
VISITYRNO identifies the total number of office visits during the past 12 months. VISITYRNO reports the responses to the survey question, "During the past 12 months, how many times [have/has] [you/sample child] seen a doctor or other health care professional about [your own/sample child's] health at a doctor's office, a clinic, or some other place?" The survey interviewer specifically instructed the interviewee to "not include times [you/sample child] [were\was] hospitalized overnight, visits to hospital emergency rooms, home visits, or telephone calls." In 2000, the instructions were expanded to include dental visits as an exclusion instruction.
DOCVIS2W reports if the respondent visited a doctor's office during the two weeks prior to the interview, and DOCVIS2WNO reports the number of office visits during the past two weeks.
